Years ago a contractor once said to me “you don’t make money buying tools”. I never really understood this comment until I started building. If you are billing by the hour it is counter intuitive to spend $500 dollars on a nail gun only to reduce the time in which you can do something.
I am of the opinion that If we can execute a procedure with better accuracy and in a timely manner it is better for the client and better for us. Delivering results on time and within budget is a priority. Customer satisfaction means referrals and that is how we get the majority of our business. We invest in tools to make our productivity and craftsmanship better instead of investing in a showroom.
